Sam Wahl was raised by young parents who sang a lot in the car growing up in Northern California. With heroes like John Prine, Jim Croce, and Harry Nilsson as a kid he took to song creation around age 8. As a very young man he gained the interest of major labels and entertainment handlers with his band Ian Faith, and ended up making several records and sharing many stages with acclaimed national acts all over the U.S. Moving on to working in the industry as a tour and production manager for other artists, and after partnering with a small publishing group for a few years in Nashville, he wound up moving to Chicago to open a tamales restaurant! Makes sense, right? He started and curated a monthly singer/songwriter showcase called Get Off The Couch where hundreds of Chicago-based songwriters participated over the 6.5 years of it’s tenure. Now he can be found In Chicago, still writing songs and working as a voice over actor in tv and radio ad campaigns… What’s next? Let’s write a song about it!
